A showcase of innovative UX Research & Design projects

Project 1

Self-compassion.

Developing a self-report questionnaire on self-compassion for adults with a mild intellectual disability.

I led a user-centered research project to adapt and validate a self-report questionnaire measuring self-compassion in adults with a mild intellectual disability. Using qualitative and quantitative methods, I ensured the questionnaire was accessible, reliable, and suitable for this population.

Discover

A paper on Compassion-Focused Therapy, co-authored with my colleagues, highlighted the need for a validated instrument through thematic analysis of existing research.

Define

Focus groups with experts in intellectual disabilities identified key adaptations to an existing self-compassion questionnaire. This included language simplifications and visual aids to improve comprehension.

Develop

The adapted questionnaire underwent multiple iterations, incorporating insights from focus groups with end-users. Their feedback guided refinements, ensuring the questionnaire was clear, engaging, and easy to navigate.

Deliver

A validation study involving 144 adults with a mild intellectual disability followed, assessing the questionnaire’s factor structure, reliability, and construct validity, which ensured its effectiveness as a research tool.

Project 2

Designing an eCommerce task flow in Figma.

I completed a UX/UI Design course on Figma software, where I learned how to make an eCommerce purchase Task Flow. Steps included making lo-fi prototypes for mobile and desktop, a style guide & components, and hi-fi prototypes with interactions and animations. In the prototypes, the buttons are interactive.
